Take a closer look at the HDMI to DVI Adapter.

HDMI to DVI or DVI to HDMI Adapter

The HDMI to DVI Adapter lets you connect an HDMI to HDMI (M-M) cable to a DVI to DVI (M-M) cable. The maximum recommended length of both cables combined is 60 feet. There are HDMI to DVI cables available in 3, 6, 10 and 15 foot cables offering 100% HDMI backward compatibility with existing DVI devices.

HDMI has been implimented by manufacturers such as Pioneer, Panasonic, Toshiba , Sony and many others. These manufacturers are offering multimedia products with HDMI connection as the standard. The demand for HDMI and HDMI to DVI cables will be extremely large in the coming months.

1- Extending HDMI cables by using existing DVI cables
2- Bridging between DVI cables and HDMI cables

Will I lose any quality by converting from HDMI to DVI?
Absolutely not, the DVI specification is set to support a higher bandwidth for computer and high definition (HD) resolutions. The HDMI specification is set to support only HD resolutions (i.e. 480i, 480p, 720i, 720p,1080i). You will not lose quality by changing to a different cable.
