“This is a new era for Gefen—powered by strategic investment from Nice and shaped by the needs of our partners, integrators, and their customers,” said Mark Owen Burson, Managing Director of ProAV Solutions at Nice. “We’re delivering AV over IP solutions and scalable signal infrastructure built to address real-world challenges with the reliability, flexibility, and innovation the industry demands. The momentum behind today’s product launches is just the beginning.”

Key Innovations from Gefen at InfoComm 2025

Nice will debut a new generation of Gefen AV signal management solutions—including next-gen matrix switching, powerful new extenders, and essential system utilities that streamline design and ensure uptime.

Gefen Gen3 AV over IP: Scalable, Flexible, and Built for Today’s AV Demands

At the core of the new Gefen lineup is the Gen3 AV over IP platform, announced in February at ISE and now shipping, featuring the GF-HDK18G-VIP-TX Transmitter and GF-HDK18G-VIP-RX Receiver. Built on advanced Aspeed technology, Gen3 delivers visually lossless 4K60 video with HDR, ultra-low latency, and support for video walls up to 16×16—making it ideal for high-performance installations in corporate, education, digital signage, and entertainment environments.

Designed with integrators in mind, Gen3 supports HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision, with flexible input options including HDMI and USB-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode). It features integrated KVM and USB roaming for seamless workstation control, and Power over Ethernet (PoE) simplifies cabling and installation. Audio is equally flexible, with de-embedding support for analog, digital, and 7.1 channel formats. System control is made easy via a web-based GUI, robust API access, and Gefen Syner-G software for simplified setup and monitoring.

With the ability to scale up to 65,000 virtual matrix devices, plus advanced features like hotkey switching and video wall control, Gen3 equips integrators with the power to design, deploy, and manage complex AV networks—quickly, flexibly, and with confidence.

New Gefen Signal Extenders: Engineered for Distance and Demanding Installs

Gefen’s new AV signal extender family debuts at InfoComm 2025, combining long-distance performance with uncompromised signal quality. Designed around HDBaseT 3.0 and fiber technologies, the new lineup addresses the real-world needs of system integrators.

Feature models include:

  • GF-EXT-HDe_HBT3 – HDMI eARC Extender: uncompressed 4K60 4:4:4 HDR video up to 100m with ARC, loop-out, and audio passthrough.
  • GF-EXT-UCK-HBT3 – USB-C KVM Extender: 4K60 video, USB 2.0, stereo audio, and 60W charging over a single cable.
  • GF-EXT-DP5-SC – DisplayPort 2.1 Fiber Extender: supports 8K/60 or 4K/120 with near-zero latency over a single fiber cable.

All models include modular configurations, advanced EDID and HDCP support, and robust power management—ideal for enterprise, education, and command-and-control deployments.

EDID Detective Tools: Small Devices with Big Impact

Also launching at InfoComm is the Gefen EDID Detective family—compact inline tools that solve persistent signal issues caused by EDID miscommunication. Available in HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C versions, they allow integrators to capture, emulate, and override EDID information, improving display compatibility, reducing signal dropouts, and saving valuable time during setup and troubleshooting.

With this new portfolio, Nice is reaffirming its commitment to professional AV integrators and enterprise partners—offering high-performance tools, responsive support, and a clear roadmap for innovation.

“This launch is more than a product rollout—it’s a reaffirmation of our role as a solutions partner for the AV industry,” said Greg Mattson, Senior Product Manager, Gefen at Nice. “Every product we’re introducing—whether Gen3 AV over IP, advanced extenders, or EDID utilities—has been purpose-built to meet the evolving needs of integrators. From system scalability to signal integrity and real-time control, the new Gefen portfolio is engineered to deliver infrastructure that performs in the most demanding environments.”
