Audio De-Embedding: Includes an analog L/R Audio Breakout to easily connect the source audio to outboard amplification systems.

 

Professional Installation Features: Equipped with a locking power supply connector for a secure connection and a 1U tall, rack-mountable enclosure with included rack ears.

 

Field-Upgradable Firmware: Allows for firmware updates in the field using the Gefen Syner-G™ software.

How It Works

To operate the Gefen 1x4 Video Wall Controller, connect a single Ultra HD or Full HD source to the HDMI input port. Then, connect up to four Full HD displays to the corresponding HDMI outputs on the unit. Once powered on, the controller processes the incoming video signal, dividing it into four separate sections that are scaled specifically for each connected display. Using the on-screen display, built-in web interface, or commands via IP or RS-232, you can easily configure the video wall by selecting a preset layout (such as a 2x2 grid) or creating a custom layout. For a professional finish, apply bezel compensation to adjust the image and hide the physical borders of the displays, creating one large, seamless picture. The controller also de-embeds audio from the HDMI source, making it available through the L/R analog audio outputs for use with an external amplification system.

System Requirements

When using a 4K (2160p) input resolution, the following limitations and requirements apply:

  • The output resolution is limited to 1080p.
  • The rotation effect cannot be used.
  • Only the horizontal 2x2 layout mode is available.

For IP control:

  • A CAT-5 (or better) cable must be connected from the IP Control port to a Local Area Network (LAN).

For RS-232 Control:

  • The RS-232 port must be configured with the following settings: 115200 baud rate, 8 data bits, no parity, and 1 stop bit.

For Firmware Updates:

  • Firmware upgrades must be managed using the Gefen Syner-G™ software.
