The Gefen GTB-UHD600-HBTL is a compact and high-performance solution for extending full-bandwidth HDMI 2.0 audio/video with HDR up to 40 meters (132 feet) over a single CAT-5e or better cable. This powerful extender system supports the highest specifications under the HDMI 2.0 standard, including 18.2 Gbps of data throughput and a 600 MHz TMDS Clock frequency, making it ideal for extending resolutions up to 4K Cinema-DCI (4096×2160 at 60 Hz 4:4:4) with High Dynamic Range (HDR). In addition to flawless video and high-performance multichannel audio, the system provides 2-way IR extension to control A/V sources and send automation commands remotely. Installation is significantly simplified by Gefen’s Bi-Directional POL (Power Over Line) technology, which powers either the Sender or Receiver over the link cable, requiring only one of the two units to be connected to a power supply.

Key Features

Full-Bandwidth 4K HDMI 2.0 Support: Supports 18.2 Gbps of data throughput and a 600 MHz TMDS clock, the highest specified under the HDMI 2.0 standard. It extends resolutions up to 4K Cinema-DCI (

4096×2160) and 4K Ultra HD (3860×2160) at 60 Hz 4:4:4 and is compliant with both HDCP 2.2 and 1.4.

 

High Dynamic Range (HDR): Delivers greater contrast and color depth with support for HDR 10-bit color at 4K 60 Hz 4:2:0 and 4K 24 Hz 4:4:4 , resulting in a significant improvement in picture quality.

 

Long-Distance HDBaseT™ Extension: Extends HDMI and Bi-Directional IR over a single CAT-5e or better cable. It can transmit 4K resolutions up to 132 feet (40 meters) and 1080p Full HD up to 200 feet (60 meters).

 

Bi-Directional Power Over Line (POL): Gefen's proprietary POL technology powers either the Sender or the Receiver unit using the same cable that extends the HDMI signal. Only one unit requires connection to a power supply, simplifying installation where outlets are limited.

 

High-Performance Audio Passthrough: Supports high-performance multichannel digital audio including 7.1 channels of LPCM and HBR (High Bit Rate) formats like Dolby Atmos®, Dolby® TrueHD, DTS:X™, and DTS-HD Master Audio™.

 

Bi-Directional IR Extension: Provides 2-way IR extension between the Sender and Receiver units , facilitating the control of A/V sources from the display location and allowing automation commands to be sent to devices near the Receiver.

 

Professional and Compact Design: Features small, low-profile enclosures that are easy to install and can be securely surface-mounted or hidden away. The units include a locking power connector for secure connections.

How It Works

Gefen GTB-UHD600-HBTL system operates with a Sender and a Receiver unit to extend high-performance HDMI audio and video over a single cable. First, connect your HDMI source to the Sender unit's locking HDMI input port. Next, connect the Receiver unit's HDMI output to your display or projector. The Sender and Receiver units are then linked using a single shielded CAT-6A or CAT-5e cable. Finally, connect the included 12V DC power supply to either the Sender or the Receiver; Gefen's Bi-Directional POL (Power Over Line) technology will power the other unit over the link cable, simplifying the installation. The system uses Gefen’s implementation of HDBaseT™ technology with proprietary compression to transmit a visually lossless signal. For remote operation, the bi-directional IR ports can be used to control the source device from the display's location or send automation commands from the source side to a device near the receiver.

System Requirements

Cabling: Shielded (STP) CAT-6A cable is recommended for the link between the Sender and Receiver. While Shielded (STP) CAT-5e or Unshielded (UTP) CAT-5e/CAT-6A may be acceptable, care should be taken to keep these cables away from power lines and other sources of electromagnetic interference.

 

DVI Sources/Displays: To connect DVI sources or displays, Gefen CAB-DVI2HDMI-LCK DVI-to-HDMI cables are required (not included).
