Gefen GTB-UHD600-HBT is a compact and high-performance solution for extending full-bandwidth HDMI 2.0 audio/video with HDR up to 80 meters (264 feet) over a single CAT-5e or better cable. This robust system supports the full 18.2 Gbps data throughput of the HDMI 2.0 standard, delivering pristine 4K Cinema-DCI and Ultra HD resolutions up to 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma subsampling. Alongside flawless video and high-bit-rate digital audio formats like Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X™, the extender provides a 2-way link for RS-232 and bi-directional IR, facilitating versatile control over remotely located sources and displays. Installation is greatly simplified by Gefen's Bi-Directional POL (Power Over Line) technology, which powers either the Sender or the Receiver over the link cable, eliminating the need for a power outlet at both ends of the installation.

Key Features

Long-Distance 4K Extension: Extends 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz, 4:4:4) and 4K Cinema DCI (4096 x 2160 @ 60 Hz, 4:4:4) with 8-bit color up to 264 feet (80 meters). Extends 1080p Full HD and WUXGA (1920x1200) up to 330 feet (100 meters).

 

Full-Bandwidth HDMI 2.0: Supports the full 18.2 Gbps bandwidth and 600 MHz TMDS clock of the HDMI 2.0 standard. Features include support for HDR , HDCP 2.2 and 1.4 compliance , 12-bit Deep Color (at 1080p) , and pass-through for 3DTV, CEC, and Lip Sync.

 

High-Bit-Rate Audio Pass-Through: Supports multichannel digital audio including 7.1 channels of uncompressed LPCM and HBR (High Bit Rate) formats such as Dolby Atmos®, Dolby® TrueHD, DTS:X™, and DTS-HD Master Audio™.

 

Bi-Directional Control Extension: Provides a two-way link for RS-232 automation and bi-directional IR extension, allowing for control of the source or display from either location.

 

Bi-Directional Power Over Line (POL): Gefen’s proprietary POL technology provides power to either the Sender or the Receiver over the link cable, requiring only one side to be connected to the included power supply. This simplifies installation, especially when an electrical outlet is not available near one unit.

 

Enhanced HDBaseT™ Technology: Uses Gefen's implementation of HDBaseT™ with proprietary, visually lossless compression algorithms to ensure high performance and reliability.

 

Professional & Compact Design: Features Advanced EDID Management , a locking power connector , and firmware updatability via RS-232. The small, surface-mountable enclosures are easy to install and can be conveniently hidden from sight.

How It Works

The Gefen GTB-UHD600-HBT system operates with a Sender and a Receiver unit to extend signals over long distances. First, connect your Ultra HD source to the Sender unit's HDMI In port using the included locking HDMI cable. Then, connect your Ultra HD display to the Receiver unit's HDMI Out port with a second HDMI cable. The Sender and Receiver units are linked using a single CAT-5e or better cable, which carries the HDMI signal, along with RS-232 and IR control signals. Power for the entire system is simplified by Gefen's Bi-Directional POL technology; connect the included 12V DC power supply to either the Sender or the Receiver, and the other unit will receive power through the link cable. This setup allows for the seamless transmission of 4K video and enables control of the source from the display's location or vice-versa.

System Requirements

Cabling: A CAT-5e or better cable is needed to connect the Sender and Receiver units. Shielded (STP) CAT-6A cable is recommended for best performance. It is highly recommended to use 10-foot or shorter Gefen Locking HDMI cables.

 

Source and Display: An Ultra Hi-Def source must be connected to the Sender unit's HDMI input. An Ultra HD display must be connected to the Receiver unit's HDMI output.

 

Firmware Updates: A Windows PC running Gefen Syner-G™ software is required to perform firmware updates. The PC must connect to the RS-232 port on the GTB-UHD600-HBT or the Syner-G™ port on the GTB-UHD600-HBTL.
