Gefen EXT-UHDA-HBTL-RX is a high-performance HDBaseT™ Receiver that extends HDMI signals over a single CAT-5e cable, supporting distances up to 70 meters (230 feet) for 1080p and 40 meters (130 feet) for 4K resolutions. Designed for professional AV systems, this receiver enhances presentations by de-embedding audio from the video stream, providing separate analog L/R, TOSLINK® optical digital, and coaxial digital audio outputs for use with an external audio system. In conjunction with a compatible sender, it also extends bi-directional RS-232 and IR, allowing for comprehensive control of source devices from the display location or vice-versa. Installation is significantly simplified by Bi-Directional Power over HDBaseT™ (POH), which allows either the sender or the receiver to be powered remotely over the link cable, eliminating the need for a power supply at both ends.

Simplified Powering with POH: Features Bi-Directional Power over HDBaseT™ (POH) technology, which allows the receiver to power a compatible sender unit or be powered by it over the same CAT-5 cable, requiring only one power supply for the pair.

Comprehensive HDMI 2.0 Support: Accommodates a 10.2 Gbps data throughput and is compliant with HDMI 2.0 , supporting HDCP 2.2 and 1.4 , 12-bit Deep Color (at 1080p) , and 3DTV pass-through.

High-End Audio Pass-Through: Passes through highest performance multichannel digital audio, including 7.1 channels of LPCM and HBR (High Bit Rate) formats such as Dolby Atmos®, Dolby® TrueHD, DTS:X™, and DTS-HD Master Audio™.

Bi-Directional Control Extension: When used with a compatible sender, it extends RS-232 and 2-way IR to facilitate control of A/V sources from the viewing location or to send commands to the display from the head end.

Professional and Secure Installation: The compact, ultra-low-profile enclosure is surface-mountable and can be conveniently hidden. It also features a locking power connector for a secure connection.

Field-Updateable Firmware: Allows for firmware updates via the RS-232 port using the Gefen Syner-G™ software.

How It Works

Gefen EXT-UHDA-HBTL-RX operates as the receiving endpoint in a point-to-point extension system, working in tandem with a compatible Gefen Sender unit (sold separately). The system is straightforward to set up: connect your HDMI source to the Sender unit, then link the Sender to the EXT-UHDA-HBTL-RX Receiver using a single CAT-5e cable. At the display location, connect the Receiver's HDMI output to a monitor or projector. The Receiver automatically de-embeds audio from the video stream, making it available on its analog L/R, TOSLINK® optical, and coaxial digital outputs for connection to a separate audio system. Installation is simplified by Bi-Directional Power over HDBaseT™ (POH), which allows a single 12V DC power supply to power both the Sender and Receiver over the link cable; only one unit needs to be connected to external power. This setup extends not only video and audio but also bi-directional IR and RS-232 for comprehensive control over your AV equipment.

System Requirements

Cabling: A single CAT-5e or better cable is required for the HDBaseT™ link. Shielded (STP) cable is recommended, though high-quality Unshielded (UTP) cable may be acceptable. Care should be taken to keep the cable away from power lines and other sources of electromagnetic interference.

Sender Unit: The EXT-UHDA-HBTL-RX is a receiver and requires a compatible Gefen Sender unit to function.
