How It Works

The Gefen EXT-AUD-1000 system operates with two main components: a Sender unit and a Receiver unit. First, connect your analog audio source, such as a mixer or microphone, to the Sender unit's input jacks using the supplied audio cables. Then, connect the Sender unit to the Receiver unit using a single standard CAT-5 cable up to 1000 feet (300 meters) in length. Finally, connect your audio destination, like an amplifier or powered speakers, to the Receiver unit's output jacks. The system automatically transmits the audio signal over the CAT-5 cable, delivering clear and reliable sound at the remote location without any need for software or complex configuration.
