How It Works

The Gefen EXT-UHD-LANS-RX Receiver operates with one or more Sender units over a standard Gigabit Local Area Network. Connect an HDMI display to the Receiver's video output , and for greater impact, use the digital and analog audio outputs to send de-embedded audio to a separate sound system. The Receiver connects to your network switch via a cable up to 330 feet (100 meters) long and can be powered directly from the switch using Power-over-Ethernet (PoE). Once connected, the Receiver can be routed to any Sender on the network to receive 4K video with HDR, audio, RS-232, and IR signals. For multi-display applications like digital signage, the built-in 2-port Gigabit switch allows for daisy-chaining additional Receivers, creating a flexible and massively scalable virtual matrix system.

System Requirements

Network: The system requires a standard Gigabit Local Area Network for signal distribution. A PoE-enabled IP network switch is required to power the unit via Power-over-Ethernet.

Hardware: At least one Sender (EXT-UHD-LANS-TX) unit is required to transmit the source signal to the Receiver.

Software (Optional but Recommended): The Gefen Syner-G™ software is designed for use with the system to simplify initial IP configuration.
