How It Works

To operate the Gefen Toolbox HD Pattern Signal Generator, connect the HDMI or VGA output port directly to an HDTV display or monitor. For connecting to DVI displays, use an HDMI-to-DVI adapter. Once all equipment is powered on, the front panel LCD screen will display the active timing and pattern information. You can then cycle through the various timings and patterns using the front panel buttons or the included IR remote to send test signals to the connected display. For audio testing, you can input a digital or analog audio source or use the generator's internal sine wave test tone, which is output through the HDMI, TOSLINK, or S/PDIF connections.
