Long Reach Power (LRP): Provides 500 mA at 5V on pin 18 of HDMI outputs 1 and 2, enabling select extender devices to be powered through their HDMI input port without an external power supply.

 

Gefen Syner-G™ Integration: Works with the Gefen Syner-G™ software suite for performing in-field firmware updates, status monitoring, and advanced EDID/HDCP management.

 

Professional Enclosure: Features a 1U tall, rack-mountable enclosure that can also be placed on a shelf , along with a locking power connector for secure connections.

How It Works

To operate the Gefen EXT-UHD600-18, connect an Ultra HD source to the splitter's single locking HDMI input port. Then, connect up to eight Ultra HD displays to the corresponding HDMI output ports on the rear panel. Once the included 5V DC power supply is connected, the splitter duplicates the source signal and sends it simultaneously to all connected displays. The unit features built-in EDID Management, which can automatically build and transmit an EDID to the source device based on the highest video and audio formats supported by all connected displays, ensuring optimal signal compatibility. For larger installations requiring more than eight screens, you can cascade multiple splitters by connecting an output from one unit to the input of another, creating a massively scalable distribution system that supports hundreds of displays.

System Requirements

For Gefen Syner-G™ Software Usage:

  • A computer with the Gefen Syner-G™ Software Suite installed.
  • The USB driver, which is automatically installed with the Syner-G™ software, must be installed on the computer.
  • A mini-USB-to-USB cable (not included) is required to connect the splitter to the computer.

For DVI Connectivity:

  • To connect DVI sources or DVI displays, HDMI-to-DVI adapters are required (not included).

Cabling Recommendation:

  • High-quality cables are critical for handling 600 MHz HDMI signals. Gefen Locking HDMI cables are highly recommended, as they have been tested to reliably transport the full 18 Gbps throughput of HDMI 2.0.
